Simple green beans
A simple and straightforward Summer dish. We buy fresh green beans (haricots verts) at a grower nearby. First I prepare them by cutting off the stalks. Then I just blanch them for later use in salads or other. Blanchir means bringing a volume of water to the boil; add some salt, add the vegetables, cook for three minutes. Then drain and put in a bowl of cold water.
It is one of the simple dishes I currently make. I am losing weight by eating less, with more vegetables, more exercise and no alcohol.
That is why there a less recipes on my blog at the moment.
These beans, with fresh tomato, basilic leaves and mozzarella cheese, can make a delicious meal.
They keep well in the refrigerator.
